The World’s Easiest Peanut Butter Cookies

July 31, 2008

Every time I make these cookies, I get asked for the recipe. Personally, I believe that this is the easiest baked dessert, ever. I have made this recipe in a foreign country (we brought in the peanut butter because you can’t buy it there), on an oven that had no temperature markings—just low, medium, and high! The cookies turned out great. In this foreign country, I also made the cookies with no vanilla, and they tasted fine, as well! Trust me, if you like peanut butter, you will like this cookie.

Peanut Butter Cookies

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

-Preheat oven to 350
-Mix all ingredients until well incorporated
-Roll dough into balls about 1 inch in diameter.
-Place dough balls about 3 inches apart on cookie sheet. Press each ball down with a fork
-Bake in oven for about 10 minutes (until cookies are slightly brown on edges).
-Allow to cool on pan for 1-2 minutes. Carefully remove to cooling rack.

What do you like most about this blog?

July 30, 2008

I am pleased to say that every month there are more and more readers to this blog. I’m very excited that people who I do not know, or folks I haven’t seen in a long time, are getting on this blog and checking out my posts. Most of my posts belong to the following categories: family/baby, recipes, or deal finding. Please let me know which ones you enjoy the most, or if there is a subject that you’d like me to talk about. It’s always good to get some inspiration for days when I just can’t come up with anything good to write here. Thanks!

Undivided

July 30, 2008

Sometimes I feel like I pulled into so many directions. Mommy. Wife. Employee. Sister. Daughter. Friend. However, I have realized in the last few days that no matter how split-up I feel, God wants me to be focused on one goal—to be wholly his, in whatever capacity he desires. I’m not saying that it has become any easier to do the juggling act, but at the same time, it allows me to have focus on something, especially when all the parts of my life are His, anyway.

Elevation has a great song that we sing that has helped me remember this. Appropriately, it is called “Undivided.” Here’s part of it:

This is the time/This is the hour/When I make my stand/There’s no turning back/For your kingdom is all/That I want
Illuminate my heart/Pierce through the dark/Until all is laid bare/For Jesus you’re all/That I want

(chorus)
All that hinders I cast aside…
Undivided/Here’s my heart/It’s yours, it’s yours
Undivided/Take my life/I’m yours, I’m yours

Great job, Elevation worship team, in illuminating a daily struggle by writing this song. If you’re interested in purchasing the CD that has this song (recently released!), contact the folks at www.elevationchurch.com. I’m sure that they will be happy to help you out.

Ben and Candice’s Blog

July 29, 2008

Earlier, I mentioned our friends Ben and Candice and how they were in an accident. Ben has put together a blog that contains all the updates so far, as well as any future progress that they are making on recovery. I have added the link to my sidebar.

They are making huge strides, which is a statement to the power of prayer and definitely glorifies God!
