New Guthe Family Member

My friends Arin and Andy Guthe just had their baby tuesday (baby #3). Congrats to them. I have a link to their blog under “people I watch.” Congrats to you guys!

Ben and Candice’s Blog

Earlier, I mentioned our friends Ben and Candice and how they were in an accident. Ben has put together a blog that contains all the updates so far, as well as any future progress that they are making on recovery. I have added the link to my sidebar.

They are making huge strides, which is a statement to the power of prayer and definitely glorifies God!

Helping our Friends

I haven’t written about this event before now because it has been so upsetting to me. Some of our friends were involved in an accident this past Sunday that involved a flock of geese, 3 cars, and their motorcycle. If you know Ben and Candice, you know that they are a wonderful, sweet, and very active couple, and they will be spending a while recovering from several injuries including 2 broken pelvises and a badly broken wrist. Tuesday night, several of us went over to their house (they are still in the hospital) and moved furniture around so that they have a place to sleep on the first floor of their 2 story townhouse. We are planning to bring meals once they are home. (I know that this is the ubiquitous response, but they won’t feel like cooking, so it still helps.) We are also planning on helping out with the grocery shopping, and probably the cleaning.

For my loyal readers (and anyone who happened to read this blog entry), I have this question. If you’ve ever been laid up with a bad injury, especially if the person you lived with was also injured, what were the things that your friends and family did that helped? What were some things that you wished that people had helped to do? What are some things you wished that people had NOT done? Thanks for your input in trying to make this difficult time a little easier for our friends.
